Public Art +
The success of a public art project often hinges on whether the community not only understands and respects the project, but also sees itself reflected. Our team believes public artists serve as visual translators, engaging with the lived experiences of a community and translating their stories, traditions, and histories into meaningful, site-specific works.
With over 50 years combined experience, our team brings deep technical knowledge, a collaborative spirit, and a proven record of impactful public projects across the United States and internationally. We’ve partnered with organizations including the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), Alameda County Arts Commission, and the Richmond Arts and Culture Commission to design and produce large-scale public art.

Our mural compositions combine realism and abstraction to create layered narratives infused with bold color, intricate detail, and symbolic depth. Our practice spans from hand-painted murals to permanent installations fabricated in tile, glass, and porcelain enamel on steel.
We enjoy working closely with clients, stakeholders, and communities to develop and refine designs to reflect a shared vision and elevated artistic concept. From concept development and design to fabrication and installation, we can manage every stage of the process and advise on best practices to ensure each project remains vibrant and impactful for years to come.
Mural Restoration +
Murals are vital cultural landmarks, but exposure to weather, pollution, and time can diminish their impact. Our team provides professional mural restoration services that preserve the integrity of existing artworks while revitalizing their original vibrancy.
We assess structural and surface conditions, stabilize damaged areas, and restore color and detail. Our goal is to extend the life of murals while respecting the intent of the original artists and the communities that value them.
Community Engagement / Arts Education +
Community engagement is central to our practice. Our projects are community-driven from concept to completion. We believe the most impactful public art emerges from deep engagement with the stories and histories of the community in which the art will live.
Each year, we engage approximately 400 community members in our free mural programs:
- Community Feedback Sessions: Residents and stakeholders contribute ideas and input to ensure the final design reflects local identity and values.
- Mural Workshops: Hands-on workshops exploring storytelling, symbolism, composition, and design.
- Youth Mural Programs: Lead youth in conceptualizing, designing, and painting murals while learning about the power of public art.
- Emerging Artist Mentorships: Professional development and vocational training from experienced muralist-educators.
- Community Painting Days: Open, inclusive painting events where people of all ages and abilities contribute directly to the mural.
- Mural Unveiling Events: Public celebrations that bring communities together over shared bonds.
